Two Staff, One Channel, and an Integration That Kept Breaking
Before Jetstream, Capital Vacations had two full-time staff dedicated solely to managing Airbnb distribution: handling content updates, guest responsiveness, and the constant firefighting that came with a SynXis integration that frequently failed to push reservations through to the front desk.
Beyond those two people, every revenue specialist on the distribution team was pulled into manual effort around promotions and resolving discrepancies. The SynXis-to-Airbnb integration offered a binary choice: BAR rate or a flat discount, with no ability to target specific properties within a region.
It was pretty much BAR or it was just discounted all the time. You could pick one or the other. It was a huge manual lift when we wanted to do it, and it was very hard to do it by specific property.

Before Jetstream, VRBO was effectively nonexistent for Capital Vacations. Their only VRBO exposure came through minimal Expedia visibility. The team knew the channel mattered but could not justify the operational lift of launching a second platform while still struggling with Airbnb.
Jetstream launched VRBO as a fully managed channel across the portfolio. Within the first year, VRBO grew to represent 22% of total GBV in the last 60 days, a result that represents entirely incremental demand.
