What is an MCP Channel Manager

An MCP channel manager for hotels and short-term rentals exposes your distribution data and actions, rates, availability, listings, and reservations, through the Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI agents use to work with external systems. Instead of a bespoke API integration per channel, an AI agent or an AI-built tool connects once and can read and operate your property distribution through one consistent interface.

A single hosted MCP endpoint exposes two namespaces. The supply namespace covers upstream systems: properties, rate plans, ARI, reservations, and content. The distribution namespace covers your OTA channels: listings, rates, availability, reservations, and per-channel connection health. One connection covers both sides of distribution.

Agents handle routine work automatically: update rates and availability, sync calendars, update listing content, and map or onboard a listing to a channel. On the supply side, they refresh ARI, run availability checks, map properties, and push content. Booking actions, creating, modifying, cancelling, or accepting a reservation, run through explicit, confirmable permissions, so agents stay fast on routine changes and controlled on anything that carries money.

Connect and authenticate

Access uses OAuth 2.1 with scoped, revocable tokens issued per connection, so you, or your agent, get only the permissions you need. Tool and resource discovery is open, which is how the server surfaces in MCP registries and connector pickers, but every read and write requires a valid token.
